School board fronts frustration with ECC project architects

During a recent Richmond R-XVI School District Board meeting, District Operations Director Jeff Southwick and Superintendent Dr. Bryan Copple discussed frustrations with the Early Childhood Center (ECC) project. Hollis and Miller Architect representative Cam Hinton was supposed to be present at the meeting to discuss updates but did not attend. “We agreed on the transformer being the better power source. According to Cam, supposedly, those are almost a year out and we could not get it until November. How that’s possible – I don’t know,” said Copple. The superintendent said in his opinion – it is a big deal. “Even when we changed construction companies, we knew that we needed this transformer and it just keeps getting kicked down the road. To say I’m very frustrated with our architects, is an understatement,” said Copple.
