Timothy Martin Grimm, 45, of Richmond passed away Thursday, Sept. 14, 2023, at Liberty Hospital.

Timothy was born on Aug. 6, 1978, in Richmond, the son of Stacy Martin and Julia Fay “Julie” (Phipps) Grimm.

Survivors include his parents, Stacy and Julie Grimm of the home; brother, Andrew J. “Joe” Grimm of the home; and nephew, Bishop Grimm. An aunt, three uncles, many cousins and friends also survive.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents; maternal grandparents; and brother, Richard Grimm in infancy.

Timothy was reared and educated in the area of his birth and graduated in 1997 from Richmond High School.

He was active in his youth as a Boy Scout and went on to become an Eagle Scout, where he was a proud member of the Tribe of Mic-O-Say. He worked as a lifeguard during high school.

After high school, Timothy worked as a painter for Tim Abbott, Abbott Painting. He also worked in the railyards, loading new cars on the trains for transport.

Timothy had been under the loving care of his parents and family since suffering a tragic accident in 2001 that left him paralyzed.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the donor’s choice in memory of Timothy. They can be left at or mailed to Thurman Funeral Home; 507 E. Main St.-P.O. Box 190; Richmond, MO 64085.

Visitation with funeral services were held on Tuesday, Sept. 19, at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond, with visitation beginning at 1 p.m., followed by services at 2. A Tribe of Mic-O-Say service started at 1:45.
