Patricia Converse

Patricia Ann (Lynn) Converse of Oak Ridge Assisted Living Facility in Richmond went home to be with her Lord on June 16, 2023. Patricia was born on March 12, 1933, in Louisburg, Kan., to the late Russell and Gladys (Livingston) Lynn. She was a 1951 graduate of Northeast High School in Kansas City. On Oct. 11, 1952, she married Ronald R. Converse. They raised three children in Kansas City, moved to Bentonville, Ark., and then retired in 1997 to Richmond.

Patricia loved to reminisce and began many conversations with, “I remember when …” She was a devoted caregiver to several family members throughout her life and a tireless defender for the rights of the mentally and physically challenged.

Patricia continued the family tradition of serving in Scouting as her children were growing up. She was active in the PTA at Northeast High School and was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Patricia’s love of our Lord Jesus Christ was important to her. Over the years, she was an active member of the Independence Boulevard Christian Church in Kansas City, the Christian Church in Bentonville and the United Christian Presbyterian Church in Richmond, where she was honored as deacon emeritus.

Patricia was preceded in death by her husband, Ron; daughter, Rebecca Lynn Converse Stevens; her parents; and two brothers, Ed Lynn and Robert Lynn.

Survivors include: her brother, Jim Lynn (Shirley); son, Gary Converse (Marla); daughter, Deborah Lupardus; six grandchildren, Adam Lupardus Kartus (Petr), Eric Lupardus (Kim), Gary Converse Jr. (Kadi), Audrey Converse, Joe Stevens and Cody Stevens; eight greatgrandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the staff at Oak Ridge Assisted Living Facility and the Shirkey Hospice team for their excellent care of Patricia.

Visitation was held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 22, at Thurman Funeral Home, with the memorial service beginning at 11. Cremation and inurnment will be at a later time.

The family suggests memorial contributions to the Richmond United Christian Presbyterian Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond.
