Bobby K. Millsap, age 96, from San Antonio, Texas, went home to our Heavenly Father on June 1, 2023, with his family by his side after a long struggle with dementia. Born March 21, 1927, in Camden to his mother Sallie (Cruse) Millsap and father Albert Millsap, he was preceded in death by his mother and father, as well as his sister, Marvene Noland; and brothers, Thomas P. Millsap and Phillip G. Millsap.
He married Raynette (Yeats) Millsap in 1952 in Heidelberg, Germany, where both of them were stationed and serving in the U.S. Army. Raynette passed away after a long battle with cancer in 1978. He later married Lucille (Townsend) Millsap in 1986. She passed away from Alzheimer’s in 2007.
Bobby proudly served his country in the Army over a 30-year career, achieving the rank of chief warrant officer (W-4). He received numerous commendations, as well as serving two tours in Germany, one tour in Thailand and two tours in Vietnam.
He served as president for the local Gideons, as well as being a longtime member of the Methodist Church, holding many positions.
After retiring from the military, he pursued his passion of caring for animals by owning and working several ranches for over 25 years – first in Uvalde, Texas; then in Seguin, Texas; and finally in Kingsbury, Texas. He began breeding and raising Boer goats right after they were introduced to Texas after previously having herds of Spanish and Nubian goats. He loved and bred Australian shepherds, great Pyrenees, Araucana chickens, and various breeds of rabbits and cows.
Bobby is survived by his son, Kevin Millsap; daughterin- law, Olga Millsap; and grandson, Austin Millsap of Texas. He also is survived by his sister, Mae Smithey of Missouri; and brother Albert Millsap of Arkansas.
