County students receive scholarships

Although high school graduations have passed, some recent graduates continue to await news of scholarships and awards. Recent graduates Milo Nay of Orrick High School (OHS) and Donivin Williams of Richmond High School (RHS) were recently awarded the 2023 Darrick K. Homfeld Memorial Scholarship. The son of Kelly Ann Nay of Orrick, Milo is also a graduate of Lex La-Ray Technical Center. He plans to attend Iron Eagle Welding Academy in Stockton, Mo., specializing in pipe and structure welding. “As a mother, you watch your kids grow up and achieve so much. As they come to the end of their senior year and you watch so many awards go to your child, you can’t help but shed a tear of absolute joy,” said Kelly. “Milo has wanted to be a welder for some time and receiving the Homfeld scholarship was such an honor. This gives him more of a chance to fulfill his dream and I couldn’t thank of enough for that.” Donivin is the son of Rance Williams, Lisa Schick and Jerone Schick, all of Richmond…
