Marilynn L. Ellis, 82, of Mount Vernon, formerly of Richmond, passed away Wednesday, May 24, 2023.

Marilynn was preceded in death by her mother and father, R. Louise and Bert Ellis, of Springfield; a sister and her husband, Judy and Richard Hoover, of Aurora; a nephew, Steve Lowry, of Aurora; and a niece, Lybbe Unruh, of Grove, Okla.

Marilynn is survived by her two daughters, Cassandra (Cassie) Ellis Herd of Mount Vernon and Marianne Ellis Wyse of Mount Vernon; five grandchildren, Corey and Stephanie Hudson, Wesley Hudson, Chelsea and Joel Loveland, Parker and Lauren Herd, and Blain and Kate Wyse; eight great-grandchildren, Tristan, Cole, Zane, Elizabeth, Marlow, Teegan, Emmett and Tinslee, and two babies on the way, for a total of 10.

She also is survived by her nieces and nephews: Kathy Lowry, Aurora; Bill Unruh, Grove, Okla.; Tami Hoover, Monett; and Wynn Hoover, Springfield. Other survivors include her great-nephew, Broc and Leanne and family, Ami and family, Molly and family, and Wade and family; her fur babies, Ruby, Celie and Piper; as well as a lot of cousins throughout her family.

Mom loved each and every one. Thank you from Cassie and Marianne. Visitation: 2-4 p.m., June 3, Greenlawn Funeral Home, Springfield. Burial: 2 p.m., Sept. 16, Greenlawn Garden.
