City’s water treatment projects continue

The Richmond City Council received an update about water system improvements by Olsson project managers Brooke Hudlemeyer and Mike Milius during a recent meeting. Olsson is an engineering and design firm out of Kansas City. “The Water System Master Plan was finalized in December 2021 and with the passage of the General Obligation Bond on April 5 last year and ARPA funds, the city can begin Phase 1 of the plan with the Acoustic Leak Detection investigation. Olsson analyzed and delivered to the city a summary of the acoustic leak detection conducted, investigation findings and a distribution system map identifying the location of potential leaks,” said Richmond City Administrator Tonya Willim. “Yes, we’ve got a few projects going on,” said Hudlemeyer.
