EDNA ELLEN CREASON

Edna Ellen Creason, 89, of Richmond passed away on Saturday, May 13, 2023, surrounded by her loving family at her home.
Edna was born on April 29, 1934, in Orrick, the daughter of William Henry and Nellie Eveline (Carpenter) Ryan.
She was united in marriage to Clarence Edward Creason of Orrick on July 3, 1954. He preceded her in Edna Creason
death on Sept. 14, 2006.
Survivors include: four sons, Forrest (Linda) Creason of Raymore, Clarence Edward (Elizabeth) Creason Jr. of Maysville, Barry (Carol) Creason of Excelsior Springs and Timothy Creason of Richmond; two daughters, Kitty Haley of Hardin and Linda Gardner of Richmond; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a brother, David (Patricia) Ryan of Kansas City; and two sisters, Nellie Liggett of Richmond and Ruth Dodson of Independence.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Davy Creason; brother, Sammy Ryan; granddaughter, Jessica Dawn Creason; and great-granddaughter, Alexzandria Michelle Smith.
Edna was reared and educated in the area of her birth. She was a housewife and homemaker, raising her family.
She was of the Baptist faith.
She enjoyed scrapbooking, journaling, doing ancestry and collecting special things. She especially liked traveling to Jamesport with her family for a yearly excursion.
Edna did volunteer work at Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for many years.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to The Wounded Warrior Project. Memorials can always be dropped by or mailed in care of the family to Thurman Funeral Home; 507 E. Main St.-P. O. Box 190; Richmond, MO 64085.
Visitation with funeral services will be held on Friday, May 19, at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond, with visitation beginning at noon and services to follow at 1 p.m. Burial will be in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville following the services.
