SNS fundraisers attract community
With scorecards in hand and tee times secured, golfers and supporters of Special Needs Services (SNS) of Ray County were ready to participate in the Community At Play (CAP) Golf Tournament at the Hidden Valley Golf Course in Lawson last week.
Hosted by SNS, the fundraiser was held to support efforts for a new facility.
“We received good feedback from the participants and they asked when our next golfing event would be,” SNS Director Suzan Breen said.
Aside from golf and putting contests, the infamous orange CAP catapult was on hand and participants were anxious to see it in action, she said.
With the help of Hidden Valley staff, the event went smoothly and $11,637 was raised, bringing the total funds collected for seed money to $16,743.54, only $3,265.46 short of the $20,000 goal, added Breen.
