County students receive scholarships

As high school graduations near, high school seniors anxiously await news of scholarships and awards. Hardin-Central High School senior Chelsea Gant and Richmond High School (RHS) senior Brady Burgess were recently awarded the Ray-Carroll County Grain Grower Scholarship. The daughter of Mark and Jennifer Gant, Chelsea plans on majoring in interior design at Park University in Parkville, Mo. “Chelsea is well deserved for this scholarship. She is an excellent young lady that leads by example. Chelsea is involved in many different clubs, organizations and sports. She is a natural leader that always portrays a positive attitude,” said William Dow, the Hardin-Central High principal. The son of Meredith and Collie Burgess, Brady plans on going to college at Northwest Missouri State in Maryville, Mo. and will major in agriculture business, he said. “We have a very strong agriculture and Future Farmers of America (FFA) chapter, here at the high school.
