Marsha Sue Campbell, 82, of Richmond passed away on Saturday, April 22, 2023, at her home.

Marsha was born on May 7, 1940, in Georgeville, the daughter of George and Crystal (Haynes) Alexander. She was united in marriage to James Andrew Campbell of Richmond on Oct. 23, 1960. He preceded her in death on Nov. 24, 2020.

Survivors include: her son, David Campbell of Richmond; and daughter, Marsha Campbell

Nancy Campbell of Roeland Park, Kan.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; brother, George William Alexander; and sister, Lon Ann Prindle.

Marsha was reared and educated in the Knoxville area and graduated from Richmond High School. She first worked for The Bone and Joint Clinic in Jefferson City, then a general practitioner in Willow Springs, after which she worked for an orthopedic surgeon in St. Joseph. Finally, she returned to end her career with Spine Midwest in Jefferson City.

She was an avid reader, loved puzzles and sewing, and did some gardening. She will be dearly missed by her family and all who knew her.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made in Marsha’s name to New Hope Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. They can be left at or mailed to Thurman Funeral Home; 507 E. Main St.-P.O. Box 190; Richmond, MO 64085.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 29, in the chapel of Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Burial will follow, next to her husband, in New Hope Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery west of Richmond.
