FFA students host breakfast, excited for March contests
An annual tradition during National Future Farmers of America (FFA) Week is the FFA Breakfast, hosted by the Richmond High School FFA, Richmond FFA Advisor Laura Allen and the Friends of Richmond FFA (FORFFA).
Most students woke up before 5 a.m. the day of the event in order to plenty of prep time. Parents, teachers, students and community members arrived for the early breakfast, which consisted of sausage, bacon and pancakes cooked by students and FORFA members, as well as purchased fruit and donuts.
“We really like to provide a free breakfast to the community, local businesses and farmers who support us. I think it is important the students see we are giving breakfast away for free and it is nice to serve the community – for those that support us,” said Allen.
The advisor said she thinks this semester is going well for the students and they are preparing for their upcoming contests and practices. The practice contests begin in early March, followed by district competition in late…
