Remains identified, investigation continues

Human remains found in April 2022 have been identified and the case deemed a homicide, according to Ray County Sheriff Scott Childers. It has been determined that the remains found in rural Ray County belonged to Jackson County resident Colette Noelle Greene, a.k.a., Nicole Joann Kasch, 27. The sheriff confirmed the department is awaiting approval of search warrants from Prosecuting Attorney Camille Johnston. “Search warrants are imperative. We need to re-evaluate evidence and suspects,” added Childers. “We do believe this is a homicide.” Childers said results were received late last year and noted the department is building a profile on the victim as the investigation continues. “She did not have much of a carbon footprint,” said Childers. Greene did not own a home or a car and did not post frequently on social media. Through laboratory analysis, Childers said the anthropologist confirmed Greene was left at the scene for 6-18 months before she was found. The department notified…
