Ray County Board of Commissioners has yet to receive word from their attorney regarding what they are able to do in regards to a recent request to prohibit cannabis micro- businesses from locating in Ray County. In the December commissioners meeting, First Baptist Church Richmond Pastor Willie Isaacson voiced many concerns and made several requests regarding Amendment 3 and how it will affect the community. Commissioners Dave Powell, (now retired) Bob King and Gary Wilhite said they understood Isaacson’s concerns and are waiting for word from attorney Ivan Schraeder. “What (Isaacson) is trying to do is to put the county in a better position so that we can stop something from happening in the county. We’re still not sure whether we can or can’t,” said King. “We have to wait till 2024, before the presidential election before we make any decisions,” said Powell.
