Sheriff, deputies take on five pursuits, drug trafficking

Sheriff Scott Childers and Ray County deputies have been involved in five pursuits the last several weeks. All pursuits resulted in charges of trafficking drugs and resisting arrest. Three of those were motorcycle chases and two were motor vehicles, Childers said. He wanted to reiterate that pursuing a motorcycle is challenging. Although it was difficult, through tactical driving and other agencies helping, his team was able to stop all three motorcycles. One of the three motorcycles they were pursuing was an Aryan Brotherhood gang member. According to “FBI Records: The Vault,” the gang is a violent white supremacist gang, formed in the late 1960s within the California state prison system.
