West Coasters discover comfort, business opportunities in Richmond

Vicki and Paul Comeau have found themselves a slice of heaven in Richmond as residents. They hope Richmond will be heaven for them as business owners, too. The Comeaus, who bought an area home in August 2020 and are still relocating from the state of Washington, do hand-painted pinstriping and lettering, hand-painted vinyl lettering, gold and silver leafing, airbrushing and vinyl work. They work on trucks, boats, hot rods, motorcycles, cars, signs, walls, doors and refrigerators. “Whatever will sit still long enough to get the job done,” Vicki Comeau said. The Comeaus, who’ve been in business for 35 years, consider their work a “niche job.” They’re excited about gaining new clients in Ray County as they maintain their larger clients out west, they said. “We are starting from scratch, which can be challenging,” Paul Comeau said.
