Shirley Ann Kinnard
Shirley Ann Kinnard, 85, of Richmond, died on Friday, Aug. 5, 2022, at Liberty Hospital.
Shirley was born on Sept. 26, 1936, in Kirksville, the daughter of Clyde Vernon and Opal Loraine (Aggans) Allen. She was united in marriage to George Lee Kinnard of Kansas City on Sept. 30, 1955; he preceded her in death on Aug. 29, 2009.
Survivors include three sons, George (Patty) Kinnard of Overland Park, KS, Tim Kinnard of Independence, and Rob (Mary) Kinnard of Richmond; daughter, Julie (Scott) Layman of Lexington; 13 grandchildren, Dustin Shaw, Brad (Jessica) Kinnard, Kevin Summers, Sam Kinnard, Jordan (Naomi) Kinnard, Cassie Kinnard, Blane (Julie) Mohn, Morgan Nail, Avory Nail, Steve Kinnard, Billy (Jennipher) Kinnard, Nicholas Kinnard, and Geraldine (Chance) Minnick; 27 great-grandchildren, Taylor Shaw, Xavier Shaw, Willow Shaw, Kaine Kinnard, Thierry Comley, Addison Mohn, Gabe Mohn, Brody Graning, Bristol Graning, Steven Kinnard, Makinzee Kinnard, Ayden Kinnard, Atlas Kinnard, Kloee Cringan, Hallie Nolke, Josie Hudgens, Kodi Hudgens, Casey Hudgens, Presley Hudgens, Jaxon Hudgens, Ty Kinnard, Alyssa Kinnard, Sarah Kinnard, Hayden Kinnard, Kaylynn Summers, Natalie Summers, and August Summers; great-great-grandchild, Amari Kinnard; two sisters, Jean (Don) Pinnel of Independence and Carol Allen of Springfield; and brother, Terry (Wanda) Allen of Raytown.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Steven Kent Kinnard; sister, Elinor Bingaman; and two brothers, Billy Allen, and Kenny Allen.
Shirley was a housewife and homemaker all of her life. Shirley and George moved to the area from Kansas City in 1969, to her dream home, north of Hardin, on Route A. Her hobbies and interests included cross-stitch, sewing, quilting, doing crossword puzzles, and cooking. Shirley loved to sing and was in the choir at church and she also helped out in the nursery as well. She enjoyed soap operas, “her stories,” HGTV, and making an awesome potato salad. Shirley also loved cheering for her kids in the sports they participated in. She was a member of Richmond First Baptist Church. Shirley will be dearly missed by all her family and friends.

Visitation with funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2022, at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond, with visitation beginning at 10 a.m., with services to follow at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Lavelock Cemetery, north of Hardin.
