Richmond businesses host pet food, toy drive in June
In June, there was a pet food and toy drive to benefit the Humane Society of Ray County and Autumn Acres.
The Richmond News, JP’s Total Image, Richmond Chiropractic Center, Equitable Advisors, the Ray County Library, Oswald Crow Agency and Macey Bail Bonds were sponsors and held the donation boxes in their respective offices.
Sharon Donat, media specialist for the Richmond News, said that both the Humane Society of Ray County and Autumn Acres were extremely grateful.
“Thank you to everyone who donated,” Donat said.
With prices raising, things are becoming more challenging to get a hold of, Donat said. Dog food, cat food, toys and the other items donated by each sponsor will assist tremendously, she said.
Donat added that it was good to see the community focus on helping animals and that both shelters are great.
