Ray County dispatchers are being trained for international certification in the three emergency dispatch disciplines, Ray County E-911 Director Kim Davis announced when the board convened June 23 in the 911 building in Richmond. Dispatchers have finished their emergency medical dispatcher training and emergency fire dispatcher training had already begun, Davis said. Training in the final discipline was slated to start June 29, she said. “Amanda (Collins) and I are going to be in seven or eight other training sessions, as far as the software goes,” Davis said. With the additional training, Ray County dispatchers will be able to assist with broader situations. They also will know the software and be able to train others. For now, the can assist through giving out medical information through a call.
