Of the Earth’s Sunday Soirees showcase the best in rural relaxation

Food, drinks, live music. This may sound like the KC Power and Light District, but can also be found at a little spot north of Richmond. Of The Earth Farm Distillery, located at 17190 Missouri Highway 13 in Richmond, has created a monthly event: the Sunday Soiree. Of the Earth is staging the events 3-6 p.m. the last Sunday of each month April-October, co-owner Sarah Burnett-Pierce said. For $25, visitors get to hear live music, enjoy drinks and snack on food from a paired food-host business. The distillery picks a theme for each month. “This month’s event is barbecue and “This month’s event is barbecue and jazz,” Burnett-Pierce said Sunday. “We have our duo, Alan Voss and Forrest Stewart (performing) jazz music. We have barbecue from Stevie Ray’s BBQ out of Rayville.” The June event drew some out-of-town guests.
