Improvement in progress at Ray County Lake
RICHMOND – Roughly $100,000 in improvements based on Americans with Disabilities Act, or ADA, requirements are good for everyone who uses Ray County Lake, the Missouri Department of Conservation’s regional maintenance supervisor, Blaine Adams, St. Joseph, said.
“It’s all basically under one project and it is an ADA-access improvement project,” Adams said. “We are removing all the asphalt – sidewalk and walking pad – and the fishing jetty and replacing that with concrete. With that, the folks will have a nice, smooth surface to utilize to get from the ADA parking to the jetty, as well as a nice platform for everybody to use.”
There is more, Adams said.
“We are also putting in a new, precast restroom unit,” he said. “It will still be a pit system. There won’t be running water to it, but a more modern unit.”
The work should conclude sometime in August.
“We hope to have the work completed midsummer. The only hang up we’ll … (have) is when our precast restroom will come in. It’s coming…
