Shelly Lorriane Woodroof, 59, of Corder, died Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at Centerpointe Medical Center in Independence, with her loving companion of 20 years, Charles, by her side. 

Shelly was born on October 21, 1962, in Ray County, the daughter of Donald Levi “Don” and Della “Marie” (Sanner) Palmer. 

Survivors include: her companion, Charles Gilbert of the home; brother, Donald Levi Palmer, Jr. of Marshall; sister, Anita (Greg) Rhoades of Richmond; nephew, Christopher Hankins; niece, Amy Stevens; aunt, Mary Minnis; and cousin, Janet Kraft. 

She was preceded in death by her parents. 

Shelly was reared and educated in the area of her birth.  She was a housewife and homemaker.  Shelly spent 25 years with her family on Orcas Island in Puget Sound, Washington.  Their family especially enjoyed living on Orcas Island and returned there many times over the years.  She loved the ocean and she loved spending time with her best friend and companion, Charles.  Shelly will be dearly missed by her family and friends. 

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to your favorite charity in remembrance of Shelly.  They can be left at or mailed to Thurman Funeral Home, 507 East Main Street-P.O. Box 190, Richmond, MO 64085.
