Glen Lee Parkes
Glen Lee Parkes, 57, of Richmond, died Sunday, May 15, 2022, at North Kansas City Hospital.
Glen was born on December 25, 1964, in Richmond, the son of Howard L. and Doris M. (Abbas) Parkes. He was united in marriage to Tracey M. Hewlett-Parkes of Richmond on July 20, 2018; she survives of the home.
Additional survivors include: his mother, Doris M. Parkes of Richmond; son, Garrett Hewlett (Taylor Ryerson) of Richmond; granddaughter on the way, Blakely Hewlett; brother, Stephen Parkes of Richmond; brother-in-law, Tom (Debbie) Hewlett of Knoxville, TN; and many nephews and nieces also survive.
He was preceded in death by his father, Howard L. Parkes, two brothers, Bruce Abbas, and David Roy, and two sisters, Susan Roy, and Audrey Roy.
Glen was reared and educated in Richmond and graduated high school in the class of 1983. He was currently employed by the Missouri Department of Transportation, as a crew leader. Glen could have retired in December but chose not to because his job was everything to him. He was always on the job, even when he wasn’t working, and would make notes about signs that needed to be changed or replaced. Glen was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He quite literally loved his boat. He enjoyed time spent with his family and friends and especially enjoyed time spent with his son. Glen was so looking forward to his new granddaughter on the way.
