RICHMOND – Singer-guitarist Scott Fletcher entertained the audience at the Richmond Mushroom Festival the afternoon of May 7, and that evening, he provided the opening act for the opening weekend of the Branded Outdoor Theater. Fletcher opened at Branded for Nick Gregory and K.C. Ruckus. The inaugural weekend attracted good audiences, Branded’s entertainment crew chief, Newton Hamacher, said Monday. “We had just gotten the sound (and light) system completed … at the last minute,” he said. The event May 6 drew at least 175 people and the May 7 crowd pushed 250 people, Hamacher said. “I’d say we were really, really happy,” he said. In addition to sitting and listening, audience members could kick back and relax with a drink sold at nearby stations. Hamacher said the opening weekend revealed a couple of bugs that will be worked out, including repositioning the beer truck and outdoor restrooms closer to the crowd, but Richmond residents are able to enjoy a much-needed community…
