Justice delayed justice denied to victims, accused

There is an old saying that is true: “Justice delayed is justice denied,” and lack of action indicates justice remains delayed or worse in Ray County in two high-profiled cases in less than six months. One case involves the possible theft of government money by a public official and the other involves a shooting death. Both happened long enough ago that charges would have been filed by now in other counties. This does not mean the people who are the focus in each case are guilty of anything. Until and unless a court declares guilt, both people are presumed innocent. But they have a cloud hanging over their heads that could be removed, if investigators and Prosecutor Camille Johnston unite to either file charges or, as both cases are in the public eye, say no charges are planned.
