Larry David Brune
Larry David Brune, 66, of Richmond, died Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at Ray County Memorial Hospital in Richmond.
Larry was born on February 9, 1956, at Whiteman Air Force Base in Knob Noster, the son of Lloyd Douglas and Joan (Stephenson) Brune.
Survivors include: two sisters, Susan (Bruce) Adams and Betty (Tim) Glynn, both of Richmond; nephew, Justin (Courtney) Hook; three nieces: Jamie (Jeremy) McGinnis, Tina Adams, and Amanda Hook; eight great-nephews and great-nieces; two great-great-nieces; several cousins; and aunt, Janet Allen of Houston, TX.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Larry moved to Richmond as a Sophomore in high school and graduated in 1974. Shortly after high school, he joined the United States Army and proudly served his country for 10 years as an MP. Larry was a rodeo enthusiast who actually rode bulls and broncos while he was in the service. He enjoyed duck hunting. Being a veteran was his whole life and what kept him going. He was always there to help out, whether it be selling fireworks, helping with bingo, participating on the veteran’s honors team, or serving as commander, wherever help was needed. Larry was currently serving as Commander of the Richmond VFW post 4398, in his 15th term. He was also a bingo chairman for the Richmond American Legion and part of the Ray County Veterans Honors Team.

Visitation with funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond, with visitation beginning at 10:00 A.M., with services to follow at 11:00 A.M. Military Honors provided by the United States Army and Ray County Veterans. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Dewitt.
