‘Nunsense II: The Second Coming’ LITTLE SISTERS OF HOBOKEN ARE BACK

RICHMOND – Actors are in the habit of practicing their roles three times a week for “Nunsense II: The Second Coming.” Director Mac Rogers has had cast members practicing three times a week to present the Ray County Community Arts Association’s rendition of the musical comedy April 22-24 at the Farris Theatre. “The sisters are back and they’re putting on another benefit,” he said on stage a few minutes before rehearsal last week. The Little Sisters of Hoboken reside in Mount St. Helen’s Convent, setting the stage for some explosive humor that has set the stage for this sequel and several other manifestations of Dan Goggin’s original play. In “Nunsense II,” the nuns decide to use the same theater setting that St. Helen’s High School students used to stage “The Mikado,” a comic opera set in Japan. “It’s a benefit, so they sing and dance and kind of do a little review, and in one part of the show, they have a segment where they’re going to play some bingo.
