Dear students show respect, responsibility
RICHMOND – Dear Elementary students have been learning about the Six Pillars of Character with Character Counts, based on school information.
They learned about respect and worked on following the Golden Rule, accepting differences and being considerate of others’ feelings.
They focused on responsibility the next month. Students worked on doing what was expected of them, trying their best and thinking before acting.
In January, students worked on trustworthiness, being honest and doing what they say they will do. In the following months, they will learn and work on caring, fairness and citizenship.
Each quarter, Dear has an awards assembly where Character Kids are recognized. Classroom teachers pick one student who displays the characteristics of the word. The student is recognized with a certificate and coupon for a free Wacky Pack from Sonic.
