TINA – Orrick coach Matt Brownsberger and his Bearcats almost got their district three-peat in varsity boys basketball. After trailing Braymer by 16 three times during the second half of the Class 1 District 13 Tournament title game, the Bearcats clawed their way to within four, 51-47, late in the fourth quarter. Braymer answered by making four of six free throws during the final 30 seconds to defeat the two-time district champs 55-47 Feb. 25 at Tina-Avalon, giving the Bobcats their first district title since 2017. “We made a few shots,” Brownsberger said. “They missed a couple free throws.
