RICHMOND – Western Commissioner Gary Wilhite called for eliminating comp time for Ray County’s Road and Bridge Department employees. Instead, if they work overtime, then they will be paid overtime. Compensation time, or “comp time,” is the practice of working employees overtime, but instead of providing OT pay, employees are told they should work fewer hours at another time. Wilhite’s motion carried unanimously.
