Joseph Correll Thompson, Jr., 82, a resident of Richmond, MO passed away on Sunday, Jan. 23, 2022, at Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Richmond.

Joseph was born on Feb. 2, 1939, in Richmond the son of Joseph and Nanabelle (Stigall) Thompson, Sr. He married Pat Prichard of Richmond. She preceded him in death on Sept. 26, 2019. 

He is survived by one son, Marshall Thompson of Richmond; and one grandson, Avery Thompson. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Nanabelle (Stigall) Thompson, Sr., Pat Thompson; and daughter, Teresa Jo Thompson. 

Joseph attended and graduated from Richmond schools. He proudly served his country in the Army National Guard. He worked at Joe’s Hwy 10 Market in Richmond until the store closed in the 80’s. He was a member of the Jaycees and Ducks Unlimited. He loved to attend class reunions and loved music.

He was a very loving and caring father and grandfather. He never met a stranger. He was a kind and caring person who was gentle and always had a smile on his face. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. 

Graveside services will be held on Friday, Jan. 28, 2022, at 11 a.m. in Sunny Slope Cemetery in Richmond.
