Jerri was born on August 15, 1948, in Richmond, Missouri. The daughter of Jean "Shorty" Ross and Norma “Blondie” Jean (McCanless) Stockton.

Survivors include: one son, Jeremy Doss (Samantha) of Richmond; daughters, Barbara O’Dell (John) of Richmond and Heather Brown of Cowgill; 11 grandchildren, Maranda O’Dell, Penny Barnhart (Rory), Leslie Luman (Thomas), Shelby Young, Matthew O’Dell (Autumn), Trystan Sunby (Casey), Wolfgang Clapper (Claire), Haley Clapper, Haley McGaugh (Tyler), Anakin Doss, Leialyn Doss and 22 great-grandchildren; brother, Jean "Bud" Stockton of Lowrey City and sister, Debra Frost of Richmond, along with extend family.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Jerri was a lifelong resident of Ray County.  She completed all her schooling in the Richmond area and was involved in DECA, PEP club, and choir. She was a graduate of the class of 1966.  After High School she attended Kansas City Business College in Kansas City Missouri.  She worked as a cook at Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and at the Ray County Jail. She was a devoted mother to her three children, if she wasn't sitting on the sidelines keeping score for baseball, she was the loudest cheerleader in the stands.  Even in their defeat she always made them feel like a winner. She assisted as a youth bowling coach at both the Richmond and Henrietta bowling alleys. She was always very active.  When she wasn't attending things for her children, she was playing cards with friends or bowling herself, but available to cut a rug at any time, with anybody who would dance with her young or old.  She was proud to be a supporter of the Family Support Group, of the Missouri National Guard.  After she retired her time was consumed with watching sports.  Her love of football and baseball stretched from high school leagues to professional teams, but that love was minimized when it came to her pride and joys, her grandchildren.  Nothing stood in the way of her being the best Grandma/Nana until she became a Great Grandma that far exceeded anything.  Time with them is all she wanted in life. Telling stories playing with teddy bears or teapots was all that mattered. Her hugs and kisses will never be replaced.

The family is asking that if you want to make memorial contributions, they may be made to any Veterans Association that you prefer.

Please join the family at her celebration of life on December 18th, 2021, at 3 p.m. at the American Legion in Richmond, Missouri.  Remember to share your memories with the family by visiting, www.thurmanfuneralhome.com
