Parson declares Mo. State Fair source of pride
JEFFERSON CITY – Gov. Mike Parson and Missouri State Fair Director Mark Wolfe announced this year’s fair drew 330,125 people to celebrate Show-Me State agriculture.
This turnout followed the COVID-limited, youth livestock-only fair in 2020.
“Agriculture is Missouri’s top economic driver, and the Missouri State Fair is an important time to celebrate the efforts of our farmers and ranchers, as well as the young people who work hard on their projects year-round,” Parson said. “Missouri State Fair commissioners, staff, vendors, exhibitors and everyone involved should be proud of their efforts to make the 2021 fair a success. It has been a challenging year, but it was great to welcome thousands of fairgoers back to the fairgrounds.”
Missourians know that summer would not be complete without spending a few August days at the fair, he said. Parson visited the fair on multiple days.
In total, the fair hosted 23,787 show entries.
