Kathleen Irene (Mitchem) Doak
Kathleen Irene (Mitchem) Doak, 66, of Lexington, MO passed away on Monday, Oct. 11, 2021, at the Riverbend Heights Health and Rehabilitation.
Kate was born on Nov. 12, 1954, in Louisville, KY to Billy Winfred Mitchem and Diane (Thacker) Mitchem. She attended Sallie Phillips Durrett High School graduating in 1972. She then completed three semesters at Community College. On Dec. 31, 1981, Kate was united in marriage to Butch Doak in Lexington, MO. Kate worked for many years as the Front-End Manager for Health Mart in Lexington and sold advertising for the Richmond Daily News. She also worked for a short time at the Franklin Hole and The Brewery, both in Lexington. Kate also worked as secretary/bookkeeper for Lafayette County Glass.
In addition to spending time with her friends, Kate had a love for music, animals, and her family. She will be greatly missed.
Survivors include Kate’s husband, Butch Doak of Lexington, MO; two children, Miles Zachary Doak of Lexington, MO and Hannah Norris and husband Josh of Fortson, GA; six grandchildren, Gabriel Bertz, Cameron Norris, Miles Doak, Mason Doak, Maverick Doak, and Machlynn Doak; one sister, Nancy House of Louisville, KY; a niece, Kelli Ware; a nephew, Bobby Vowels; and many other nieces and nephews.
Kate was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 23, 2021, at the Walker-Nadler-Fuller Funeral Home, 1720 South St., Lexington, MO. A Celebration of Life will take place at 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
