Thacker optimistic after Orrick’s first 8-man gridiron defeat

ORRICK –The 4-1 Bulldogs face a Missouri Highway 10 and Ray County rival, visiting Norborne Hardin-Central, following Orrick’s 56-8 Oct. 1 road loss to undefeated Worth County/Northeast Nodaway. “Worth County’s a good team – I mean, a very, very, very good team,” Orrick coach Kirk Thacker said. “They don’t make a lot of mistakes; they don’t have a lot of weaknesses.” One of Worth County’s many strengths – and arguably, the ballclub’s best player – is senior quarterback Aydan Gladstone, Thacker said. “He not only is a run threat, but he is a heck of a passer,” he said. Gladstone was 7-for-8 passing with 125 yards and four touchdowns. He also had 31 yards on two carries. “He really did make us look bad (a) few times,” Thacker said. Other weapons the Tigers used to rout the Bearcats included running back Alex Rinehart, who rushed for 197 yards and two touchdowns on 11 carries.
