Dorothy Eileen McGraw
Dorothy Eileen McGraw, 80, of Hardin, died Thursday, August 12, 2021, at NorthCare Hospice House in North Kansas City.
Dorothy was born on May 11, 1941, in rural Hardin, the daughter of Roy Noel and Mary Ellen (Sadler) Slover. She was united in marriage to James “Jimmy” McGraw of Hardin on January 10, 1959; he preceded her in death on September 27, 2004.
Survivors include: three sons: James William “Bill” McGraw of Hardin, David Roy (Becky) McGraw of Henrietta, and Jerry Wayne (Cheryl) McGraw of Richmond; six grandchildren: Rita Reckker, Laura (Rocky) Butler, Kendra (Brandon) Peet, Rory McGraw, James McGraw, and Seth McGraw; four great grandchildren, Luke Reckker, Jameson Butler, Caleb Butler and Paxton Peet; and one sister, Joan (Benny) Boyer of Cowgill.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Dorothy was reared and educated in the area of her birth in Stet, Hardin and Richmond. Dorothy and her sister Joan owned and operated Jo’s Café in Hardin for many years, Dorothy was famous for her pies. Dorothy also worked for S & K, Remington, and Hallmark all in Lexington. She also worked at the school cafeteria in Hardin. Dorothy was of the Christian faith. She loved to fish and was an avid fisherman. She enjoyed her children and grandchildren. She loved to bowl and was all in for a good time. She loved music and was an original member of the Hog House Band.

Visitation with funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 17, 2021, at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond, with visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m., with services to follow at 2:00 p.m. Inurnment will be in Hardin Cemetery.
