Voters blow doors off jail tax plan

RICHMOND - Voters blew the doors off a plan to replace the Ray County Jail, with a whopping 82.41% saying no.
Sheriff Scott Childers thanked those who voted for the jail and warned issues there would not go away.
Tax opposition leader Jim Pierce acknowledged the present structure has severe issues, but said research is needed to show voters a clear, well-planned solution.
