Comstock wins tournament title, receives award in eventful week

ORRICK – Dylan Comstock achieved two rare feats last week. First, the recent Orrick High School graduate was the male 16-18 champion at the Missouri Junior Amateur Championship. Comstock shot a 139 for the July 13-14 Missouri Golf Association tournament at the Paradise Point Golf Complex at Smithville Lake. He shot a 65 (-7) the first day and a 74 (+2) the second day, finishing atop a field that included Richmond’s Timmy Hamilton, who shot a 169 to tie Drew Lisec of Overland Park, Kansas, for 50th. “I had the best round of my life … the first day, shooting a 7-under, 65, to give myself a good foundation to try and secure the win over the second day and was just able to hold on enough against a really talented field to pull it off,” Comstock said. The tournament was played on the Posse – one of two courses at the complex.
