Canines, cats receive vaccines at Richmond’s annual pet clinic
RICHMOND – Some of Richmond’s dog and cat residents got vaccinated last week.
The city’s annual pet clinic took place from 6 to 7:30 p.m. June 7-9 at Wiggly Field, the dog park at West Park. Veterinary Drs. Dale Stewart, Cathy Harris and Jonathon Renfro each spent an evening administering the shots.
Dogs received vaccinations for diseases including distemper, hepatitis, parvo, parainfluenza, leptospirosis and rabies, Renfro said.
Cats received vaccinations for diseases that included rhinotracheitis, the calicivirus, chlamydia, feline leukemia and rabies, he said.
Richmond’s human residents bought along tags for their pets at the vaccination clinic. All cats and dogs in town must have a pet tag, a clinic flyer states.
