District enrollment begins on June 23
RICHMOND – The fall enrollment date starts next week, Richmond School District Superintendent Greg Darling said.
“We listened to people,” Darling said Monday. “We moved centralized enrollment.”
Enrollment for kindergarten through 12th grade will be held from 2:30 to 7 p.m. June 23, 2:30 to 7 p.m. June 24 and 8 a.m. to noon June 25 in person at Richmond High School, across from McDonald’s.
“We moved it from August to June,” Darling said, based on public input. “They don’t want it all crammed. If they’re on vacation at this time, they can register at their school.”
The two-step enrollment process starts with parents going online to the district’s PowerSchool Parent Portal to complete enrollment forms. Doing work online will speed up the enrollment process for parents, Darling said.
“If you fill everything out online, it shouldn’t take you that long,” he said.
This will be followed up with the in-person high school visit.
