Jack David Gorham, 65, of Richmond, MO, died Oct. 4, 2020, after a long illness.

He was born Mar. 15, 1955, in Merced, CA, to Jack D. and Georganne Ozias Gorham.

He graduated from North Kansas City high school in 1973. Jack David married Janet Dickson on Nov. 27, 1977. A degree in Economics was earned from the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 1981. He worked for the Norfolk and Western RR while studying law at the University of Missouri-Kansas City graduating with his J.D. in 1983. Upon graduation, Jack joined A.V. McCalley in the practice of law in Richmond, MO. He went on to assume the roles of partner and co-owner, continuing to practice law in that location for 30 years with A.V., and later, partner and co-owner, Tom Bowman.

Jack was a champion of the underdog, an avid reader and scholar. Known for his witticisms and love of word play, Jack was a master of repartee. He enjoyed a lifelong love of trains; he had an affinity for model trains, real trains, the unique, and the ordinary. He was an Eagle Scout, and served his country in the US Air Force in the early 1970’s.

Jack is survived by his wife, Janet Dickson-Gorham, two sons, of whom he was most proud, Jack Gorham (Monica) of Kansas City, MO, and David Gorham (Mackenzie) of Pocatello, ID.  Also surviving is his mother, Georganne Gorham, sister, Terre Gorham, and brother, Jonathan (Kimberly) Gorham.  He leaves behind two grandchildren, Jack and Victoria Gorham, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.   

His family continues to miss him, his fervent curiosity, and his very unique presence and personality.
