Richmond develops comprehensive plan
RICHMOND – The Richmond Comprehensive Plan public open house will be held on a come-and-go basis from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. June 30 in the city gym, 205 Summit St.
“At its core, a comprehensive plan is a vision for the future at a community scale. Comprehensive plans are created by and for the community to record shared goals and desires for themselves and their fellow community members,” city information states. “A comprehensive plan examines what a community is, where it came from and crafts a coordinated road map for the future. This road map guides the growth and development of the community for the next 10 to 20 years and is revisited to ensure its relevance.”
Work on the planning process will take about eight months and consist of six primary phases. The engage phase, which started in April and will continue into November, involves seeking community input on such issues as the type of residences residents reside in and the affordability of housing in the city.
