Hamilton places seventh at state Richmond baseballers finish .500
BOLIVAR – An individual state title narrowly eluded Timmy Hamilton.
Hamilton, who graduated Sunday from Richmond, placed seventh by shooting a 158 at the Class 2 state boys golf tournament, held Monday and Tuesday at Silo Ridge Golf and Country Club in Bolivar. He shot a 75 (+3) for his 18- hole, par-72 round Monday, putting him in second – one stroke behind Bowling Green’s Brayden Buffington. Hamilton then shot an 83 (+11) Tuesday.
Although the tournament was Hamilton’s swang song as a Spartan, it was hardly the end of his golf career. He has signed to play for the men’s program at William Jewell College in Liberty.
Aiden Bowman also represented Richmond at state, placing 61st by shooting a 203. Bowman finished in a six-way tie for 59th the first day by shooting a 102 (+30). He shot a 101 (+29) Tuesday.
