STATE CHAMPION
NIXA – Dylan Comstock finished his high school boys golf career as a state champion.
Comstock, who graduated earlier this month from Orrick and has signed to play men’s golf at Park University in Parkville, shot a 146 to win the individual title at the Class 1 state tournament, held Monday and Tuesday at Fremont Hills Country Club in Nixa. He is the first golfer in school history to win a state title, the Orrick School District stated on Facebook.
To win the title, Comstock shot a 73 (+2) for his first 18-hole, par-71 round, putting him in a tie with Spokane’s Christian Cooper for first. On Tuesday, he shot another 73. Cooper shot a 74 (+3), giving Comstock a one-stroke victory.
