RICHMOND – The Spartans are home again. On Monday, Richmond started a four-game homestand in varsity baseball by cruising to a 10-0 victory at Southview Park over St. Michael the Archangel, a private school in Lee’s Summit. Richmond dropped the junior varsity game 8-0. The varsity’s non-conference victory followed a four-game road trip that began April 5 with a 9-5 win over Knob Noster in Missouri River Valley Conference East Division play. That was followed by a 4-3 MRVC interdivisional win April 12 over Warrensburg, a 3-2 MRVC East loss April 13 to Carrollton and a 9-3 MRVCE interdivisional loss April 15 to Oak Gove. At press time, the Spartans were slated to host the Lexington/Norborne co-op Thursday and finish the week Friday by hosting Knob Noster. Friday’s varsity game is scheduled for 4:30 p.m., followed by the JV game at 6:30, at Southview.
