New coordinator talks about Ray County job
RICHMOND – Hardin Assistant Fire Chief Ryan Dickey told the Ray County Commission he has a lot to do in his role as the county’s new Emergency Management Agency coordinator.
The work includes making sure the county is prepared to address floods, pandemics, tornadoes and other emergencies.
Out of a $10,000 grant, the commission pays Dickey $4,800 per year for the part-time job. He said he will help seek another annual grant. The maximum amount possible is $30,000.
Dickey said he also plans to get the agency office, donated by Ray County Memorial Hospital, into shape.
“My biggest challenge is getting the training done,” which the state provides, Dickey said March 25.
