Arrest follows homicide

RICHMOND – The investigation continues into a suspected Lafayette County homicide following a chase involving law enforcers from multiple jurisdictions, recovery of a Pleasant Hill man’s body and the arrest of a homicide suspect, Ray County Sheriff Scott Childers said late Tuesday afternoon. “We’re certain it is a homicide,” he said. Aided by a Kansas City Police Department helicopter in pinpointing the suspect’s location, Richmond Police Detective Scott Bagley arrested an Odessa man in a field near Elkhorn Elementary School in the Excelsior Springs School District, Childers said.  The office declined to identify the suspect. Social media reports identified the man as Richard Anthony Arrington, 30, which has been confirmed independently, though the source wishes to remain anonymous.
