Wood Heights man James Wayne Woodruff Sr., 68, will face Eighth Judicial Circuit Court Judge Joseph Donald McGaugh at his next criminal setting hearing on Jan. 19 at 9 a.m. The Wood Heights man faces 11 felony charges in three different cases. Woodruff has been in custody at the Ray County Jail as a result of intel received by law enforcement regarding criminal activity occurring in Koala Circle area of Wood Heights in July 2023. Following an investigation and execution of a search warrant, Ray County Sheriff’s Department (RCSD) deputies arrested Woodruff in June and again in July for crimes committed while he was released on his own recognizance (ROR). In the first case, Woodruff faces felony charges of second-degree rape and three counts of possession of controlled substances, as well as a misdemeanor third-degree kidnapping charge from June 2023.
