MARSHALL – When Richmond needed Jacob Johnson and Chris Webb to connect for the game-winning touchdown in the Spartans’ 18-14 Sept. 8 road win over Marshall, they did. And when Richmond needed Bryar Farnan to help preserve the win, he did. Johnson and Webb got the call when the Spartans were trailing 14-12 and facing fourth-and-goal on the Marshall 6-yard line with 37.3 seconds left in the fourth quarter of the varsity 11-man football clash. Johnson, a junior quarterback, rolled to his right and threw to Webb in the flat. “I rolled out and I was looking for that flag in the corner of the end zone, and I saw Chris wide open,” Johnson said. “I knew he could execute, so I passed it to him and he just did the rest.” Open about a yard shy of the goal line, Webb snagged the ball and darted into the end zone with 32.4 seconds remaining. “I ran that route all game and they’d been all over me,” said Webb, a junior running back/defensive back. “I was really just a distraction for everyone,…
