Richmond seniors celebrate graduation, growth
What began years ago with recess, school spirit events and nervous first days of class ended with diplomas, tassels and reflections on adulthood as Richmond High School (RHS) honored the graduating class of 2026.
RHS graduates, family members and district staff recently gathered to celebrate commencement for the class as speakers throughout the evening reflected on perseverance, lifelong memories and the transition into adulthood.
Before graduates crossed the stage to receive their diplomas, Superintendent Dr.
Bryan Copple revealed a surprise waiting beneath each senior’s chair. Tucked underneath the graduates’ seats were Spartan- themed mailboxes labeled with each student’s name.
Copple told students he hoped the mailboxes would serve as a reminder of the community in which many of them were raised and would encourage them to one day return home.
“You are our future, and I’d like for you to seriously consider making Richmond your permanent home, as it is where you’ve grown up,”…
